Veo is an AI-powered sports camera and analysis ecosystem built for one job: turning what happens on a pitch into proof. Capture, viewing, data and analytics, sharing- all in one system, all pointed at the same thing.
That's bigger than football. Every player, on every pitch, gets access to the kind of proof only the top academies used to keep for themselves. It's the future we're building.
Every youth match still has a moment nobody saw. A run that won the game, underneath everyone's radar. A kid written off before anyone actually checked. We exist to close that gap, one match at a time.
One camera on any pitch feeds an AI that tracks every player and the ball for the whole game, turning what happened into evidence instead of somebody's opinion.
That's the actual job here. Not shipping features. Building the system that gives proof to someone who used to rely on a hunch.
If you've ever watched a match and wondered who else saw what you saw, you already know why this matters.
We're looking for people who want to build that future with us.
The Opportunity
As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Veo, you’ll work at the intersection of engineering and external partnerships, helping turn integration needs into working solutions at scale. This role is part of Veo’s API team and combines hands-on engineering with close collaboration across teams and partners.
You’ll report to the Engineering Manager and will be based in our Berlin office, working as part of a small, focused team alongside engineers and a Technical Product Manager. Besides working on Veo’s API (a core feature) with your team, you will also engage directly with partners to understand their technical needs. You’ll help shape integration approaches, and deliver solutions that balance speed, quality, and maintainability.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the problem, comfortable moving between conversations and code, and motivated by making things work in practice.
Values we hold at Veo:

Own it - We drive impact by identifying opportunities, taking responsibility, and confidently executing.
Level up - We embrace growth, continuously learning and shaping our skills.
Play as a team - We collaborate across a diverse organization, leveraging shared insights for stronger outcomes.
Customer Centric - We deliver value by having close partnerships and a deep understanding of our customers (internally and externally)
We value diversity and inclusion and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, even if your experience doesn’t completely match every qualification listed. What matters most is your creativity, potential, and ability to contribute meaningfully.
Our Copenhagen office mirrors our innovative technology – with an indoor ball court, rooftop terrace, and well-equipped gym. We have created a facility that supports connecting disciplines across the business, facilitates creative thinking, and gives the space to engage with colleagues, our global partners, and the entire Veo community.

What You Will Do
Own the end-to-end technical execution of selected partner integrations as part of Veo’s Public API initiative, from early discovery through delivery and iteration.
Work directly with external partners to understand their technical environments, constraints, and goals, and help design integration approaches that work in practice.
Build production-quality solutions across backend, infrastructure, and occasionally frontend, adapting to the needs of each integration.
Act as a technical counterpart in partner discussions, helping clarify what is possible, what is not, and what trade-offs exist.
Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager, fellow engineers and a Technical Product Manager to shape scope, priorities, and sequencing of work.
Help deciding when to implement targeted solutions versus when to push work into broader platform capabilities, contributing to those platform improvements where appropriate.
Proactively identify technical risks, gaps, or blockers in partner integrations and work to resolve them.
Feed insights from partner work back into the team, helping inform roadmap discussions, technical direction, and documentation.
Contribute to improving developer-facing documentation, examples, and patterns that support future integrations.
Occasionally travel to work more closely with partners when hands-on collaboration adds value.
What You Could Bring
Strong full-stack software engineering fundamentals, with experience building and shipping production systems end to end.
Comfort working as a generalist, moving across backend systems, APIs, integrations, frontend and infrastructure as needed.
Experience in building- , consuming- , or supporting API-based integrations.
Experience with Python and TypeScript (core product languages) and a willingness to work with different tech-stacks, as needed, to potentially match the environment of a partner organization.
Ability to operate in ambiguous or evolving problem spaces, where requirements are not fully defined upfront.
Good judgment around scope and trade-offs, including when to build something specific and when to step back and propose a simpler or more scalable approach.
Confidence engaging directly with partners or customers in technical contexts, including navigating changing requirements and constraints.
A mindset oriented toward making others successful, with the resilience to stay with a problem until it works in practice.
Experience translating loosely defined needs into concrete technical solutions.
Comfort embedding closely with teams outside your own, while still maintaining strong ties to core engineering.
Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Willingness to occasionally travel to work more closely with partners.
