- Conduct manual UAV test flights in real-world and controlled environments to validate system performance, reliability, and safety
- Act as Pilot in Command (PIC) during test missions and experimental flight operations
- Execute flight testing activities for prototype UAV systems, new flight modes, sensors, and payload integrations
- Monitor telemetry, sensor data, and flight parameters in real time to support engineering and validation efforts
- Perform pre-flight inspections, diagnostics, system bring-up, and flight readiness checks
- Support post-flight analysis, issue reporting, and iterative improvement of UAV platforms
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams during integration, debugging, and field testing activities
- Assist with UAV assembly, payload integration, troubleshooting, and operational preparation when required
- Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, operational constraints, and safety procedures throughout all activities
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced start-up environment with evolving priorities and hands-on responsibilities
- Valid UAV pilot license (FAA Part 107, EASA drone license, or equivalent) — required
- Proven hands-on experience flying UAVs in real operational, testing, or experimental environments
- Strong manual piloting skills with demonstrated experience on multirotor and/or fixed-wing platforms
- Experience operating UAVs beyond standard photography or commercial inspection use cases
- Comfortable flying prototype, custom-built, or non-standard UAV systems
- Strong understanding of UAV flight dynamics, operational risk management, and safety procedures
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions in dynamic or high-pressure operational scenarios
- Practical, hands-on mindset with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working directly with hardware, field systems, and evolving prototype platforms
- Experience with UAV flight testing, prototype systems, or experimental platforms
- Background in mechanical integration, avionics, electronics, robotics, or embedded systems
- Hands-on experience assembling, modifying, repairing, or integrating UAV hardware and payloads
- Familiarity with PX4, ArduPilot, QGroundControl, Mission Planner, or similar ecosystems
- Experience operating UAVs in BVLOS, R&D, industrial, or high-complexity operational environments
- Experience with FPV systems, RC aircraft, or custom UAV builds
- Basic CAD, wiring, soldering, or field repair experience
- Familiarity with autonomous flight modes, failsafe behaviors, and system redundancy concepts
- Defense, public safety, or mission-critical UAV operational experience is a plus
