Why voize? Because we’re more than just a job!
At voize, we believe the greatest gift to frontline workers is time - time to care, connect, and be present. Today, that time is lost to admin work that pulls nurses away from what matters most: people.
We’re changing that by building the AI companion that frees nurses from admin, giving them back up to 30% of time. We don’t replace humans - we support and amplify their impact. Today, 1,100+ care facilities trust voize, and over 150,000 nurses rely on our AI companion to ease their daily workload.
Our mission is backed with a $50M Series A funding led by Balderton Capital, with support from HV Capital, Y Combinator and other leading VCs.
As a fast-growing team, we combine first-in-class technology with meaningful social impact. And now, we’re looking for you to join us on this mission!
💡 Overview
We are looking for an Application Security Engineer to strengthen the security of our product and infrastructure. This role emphasizes hands-on implementation while also encompassing broader application security responsibilities such as secure design, code review, vulnerability management, and threat modeling, working closely with engineering teams to identify, prioritize, and remediate security risks.
This is a highly technical individual contributor role. The primary goal is to build and improve our security posture through practical, scalable solutions embedded directly into our development processes.
🚀 Your Daily Business - No two days are alike
Map and continuously assess services, repositories, and infrastructure from a security perspective
Identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across application code, dependencies, and infrastructure
Conduct security reviews for new and existing features and support secure implementation
Implement and maintain security tooling (e.g., SAST, DAST, dependency scanning) and integrate it into CI/CD pipelines
Establish lightweight security processes embedded in the development lifecycle
Lead security incident investigations and drive improvements through post-incident learnings
Support and improve processes for handling externally reported vulnerabilities (e.g., responsible disclosure, bug bounty inputs)
🤝 Your Skillset - What you bring to the table
Strong experience in a security focused role combined with a solid background in backend engineering, DevOps, or a similar technical field
Solid understanding of application security principles and common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10)
Hands on experience with security tooling and automation
Ability to read, understand, and write production level code
Experience working with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP)
Pragmatic, implementation focused mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams
Experience working with security or compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or C5 is beneficial but not required.
