The Role

We are looking for a skilled and pragmatic Systems & Tools Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will play a key role in both building the gameplay systems that power our game and developing the internal tools and pipelines that keep our development teams productive.

You'll work closely with designers, artists, and fellow engineers to deliver robust, maintainable solutions that have a direct and visible impact on the quality of the game and the efficiency of the studio.

Systems Engineering

  • Work within Unreal Engine's to build scalable, data-driven systems.

  • Collaborate with designers to expose systems to Blueprint for rapid iteration, balancing flexibility with performance.

  • Profile and optimise systems to meet performance targets across all target platforms.

  • Write clean, well-documented, maintainable C++ code in line with team standards.

Tools Engineering

  • Design and build editor extensions, plugins, and custom tooling within Unreal Editor to support art, design, and production pipelines.

  • Develop and maintain asset management, validation, and automation tools to improve team efficiency and content quality.

  • Identify bottlenecks and pain points in existing workflows and propose or implement practical solutions.

  • Work with technical artists and leads to support and evolve the asset pipeline.

  • Maintain and improve build, CI/CD, and deployment infrastructure as needed.

Requirements

What we’re looking to see on your CV and portfolio:

  • Strong proficiency in C++

  • Experience in a Systems or Tools role within the Games industry

  • Solid hands-on experience with Unreal Engine (UE4 and/or UE5)

  • Experience working with Blueprints

  • Good understanding of multithreading

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across disciplines.

Bonus points for:

  • At least one, or two extra languages under your belt

  • Familiarity with common gameplay systems patterns

  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine Slate/UMG
